Monsoon scalp and hair care: dandruff, humidity and breakage

Summary (read this first)
Humid weather can increase frizz, make the scalp stay damp longer and complicate dandruff control. It can also increase friction and tangling for some hair types. These effects do not prove that monsoon weather directly causes a universal spike in follicle shedding.
Separate three concerns: dandruff or itch, fibre breakage, and shedding from the root. Each needs a different response.
Dandruff and scalp symptoms
Dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis are common inflammatory scalp conditions. Antidandruff shampoos may help, but the active ingredient and frequency should match the condition and hair type. Severe, persistent or painful symptoms deserve dermatology care.
Heavy oiling can worsen symptoms for some people with an inflamed or yeast-prone scalp. If oil increases itch, scale or pimples, stop applying it to the scalp and seek advice.
Humidity and the hair fibre
Hair can absorb water from humid air, changing shape and increasing frizz. Wet or damp hair is also more vulnerable to rough handling. Use a wide-tooth comb when appropriate, blot rather than rub with a towel and avoid tying hair tightly while wet.
Breakage is not the same as hair shedding from the follicle. Snapped hairs are often shorter and may lack the club-shaped root seen on naturally shed hairs.
A practical monsoon routine
Cleanse often enough to control sweat, oil and buildup. Dry the scalp thoroughly but gently. Keep combs, towels and pillowcases clean. Avoid sharing hair tools, and do not apply products to broken or infected skin.
There is no need to claim that rainwater pollutants “oxidize scalp sebum” or that one oil ingredient corrects a monsoon microbiome. Use direct, observable guidance instead.
How Vihira fits
Use Vihira 360° only when the scalp is comfortable with oiling. Apply 8–10 drops, massage gently, leave overnight if tolerated and shampoo at least three times weekly. Avoid applying it over an active dandruff flare if oil worsens your symptoms.
Vihira is cosmetic nourishment and fibre care. It does not treat seborrheic dermatitis or infection.
